(More customer reviews)Having seen Schefflera growing in pots all my life, I was hesitant to order this for fear that despite claims of being a "tree" and a "bonsai," it would turn out to be a glorified houseplant in a bonsai pot.But this little beauty really does look like a tree;and if not actually a true bonsai, it is certainly bonsai-like in appearance. The ivory trunk and lower branches make it look far more like a tree than a houseplant.Frankly, I was pleasantly surprised. It's really gorgeous and a joy to look at.
Let's face it: even so-called "indoor" bonsai really only thrive when placed outside during the growing season.Kept indoors year round--and over a period of years--and it's touch and go, with the threat of pests, particularly fungus, ever-present.With every bonsai it sells, Brussel's offers the gentle hint (which is actually a caveat) that their indoor bonsai do best when kept outdoors during the summer.
So if you want a bonsai that you can enjoy indoors from January through December, this is one of the few that thrive indoors year round.Brussels should really provide a photo of this lovely plant, but images can readily be found online or at the Brussel's website itself.
Lovely, low-maintenance, and highly recommended.A very pleasing sight when lounging around indoors of an evening.
