Ill simply say that one tool will cost you more than this entire set. So unless you have gobs of money lying around or your heart is set on getting a really high quality set right off the bat, this is a great set to start off with even if your not a beginner.

I have been growing Bonsai's for over 13 years and I have noticed that a lot of beginners tend to go overboard with supplies. They start spending all of this money before they even know if this is something they will really enjoy and stick with or if its just a passing interest. A large percentage of the people I introduced to Bonsai are no longer actively practicing. So if your a beginner I highly recommend that you try it out for at least 6 months before you start spending large amounts of money on professional quality supplies. That is one of the reasons why I highly recommend this set for beginners. 90 dollars for 14 tools is a steal. If at a later date you want to upgrade to a nicer set you can do so. At least then you will know more about how serious you are about the hobby.
I would have given this set a 4 star rating if I was basing it on just quality however given the amazing cost of this 14 piece set, well a 5 star rating was a no brainer!!
